Exmoor Llama treks currently take place in and around Dunster Forest.
Dunster Forest is a beautiful part of Exmoor - a fantastic mix of scenery from open hillside to dense forest, including Britain's tallest recorded tree and ancient settlements! Part of the Crown Estate, we have special permission for Llama Trekking there.
Your guide will customise your Llama walk to the weather conditions, and what type of walk you want. Lasting approximately 2-3 hours, you will have an introduction to Llamas, including their history and how to handle them. Then your walk will depart at a gentle pace, with the llamas carrying items for you, so you can just enjoy them and the scenery. At an appropriate point there will be a stop for light refreshments - for you and the Llamas!
The main aim of the trek is to relax and enjoy yourself. Your guide will do their best to answer any questions you have, and accomodate any requests - your happiness is key!
Pricing depends on how many of you there are, and how many Llamas you want to walk with. One child aged 8-12 is welcome to accompany each adult free of charge, but they need to remain the responsibility of that adult. Unfortunately we cannot take children below 8 years old.
1-2 people, 1 Llama £75
2-4 people, 2 Llama £95
3-6 people, 3 Llama £110
The walks either start at Gallox Bridge on the edge of Dunster, or from the Nutcombe Bottom car park, a couple of miles outside Dunster, deeper in the forest. Please tell us if you have a preference.
Treks run all year, so to book onto a trek, please call Chris or Tracey on 07902 936120, or send us an email at mail@exmoorllamas.co.uk. We will need to take a payment in advance, either by cheque or credit card if there is not time for a cheque to be sent.
You may be walking with other people on the same trek.
All walks will involve going over ground that may be uneven or wet. Practical footwear must be worn. An indication of the length or duration of the walk is given, and you must ensure you are capable of walking for this amount of time/distance.
There are no public toilets on the trek route.
Exmoor Llamas are part of Treks and Treasure Hunts.
